Priyanka Chopra recalls early stage challenges following Malti's birth: 'I was so close to losing her…'

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is cherishing motherhood with immense gratitude and love. At the premiere of her upcoming action-comedy Heads of State, the actress shared heartwarming anecdotes about her daughter Malti Marie. She spoke openly about their special bond, offering insights into Malti's developing personality and the joy she brings.

During an interview with E! News, Priyanka shared that her 3-year-old daughter, Malti, was with her throughout the filming of Heads of State. She highlighted Malti's experience on set, including her special moments with her grandma, like trips to a bakery for croissants, emphasizing the joy Malti experienced during the film's production.

"She was with me filming this whole movie," Priyanka said. "We were on location in Provence, and while she was on set, she and her grandma would go to this bakery to get croissants and bring them home. She had the most amazing time while we were filming this movie."

Priyanka recounted that Malti developed a fondness for the film set, even adopting the crew's terminology. "She loved the set," Priyanka said, smiling. "She called craft services 'crafty' just like the actors. It was so cute."

During an appearance on Good Morning America, Priyanka discussed Malti's self-perception as a Disney princess. "She introduces herself as Malti Marie Moana Chopra Jonas. She insists she’s Moana. She insists it’s her name, like officially her name in school," she said, further describing her daughter as both an "adrenaline junky" and a "girly girl."

Priyanka has shared insights into Malti's vibrant personality, including her diverse musical tastes. On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Priyanka mentioned that Malti enjoys songs like Bruno Mars and Rosé's "APT." However, when it comes to the Jonas Brothers, Malti's father Nick Jonas's band, she has a unique perspective. "She doesn’t identify them, but she calls them the Donut Brothers."

Priyanka has openly discussed the challenging early stages following Malti's birth in a past interview with Elle. "I was so close to losing her so many times that she can get away with anything, and I just want to see her happy," she said. "I don’t even know how I’ll ever discipline her because I just don’t have it in me."

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas's journey began in 2018 when they married in Rajasthan, with both Christian and Hindu ceremonies. In January 2022, they joyfully welcomed their daughter Malti through surrogacy.

Priyanka is also filming The Bluff starring Karl Urban, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Safia Oakley-Green, and Vedanten Naidoo. Set in the 19th-century Caribbean islands, Priyanka Chopra plays a former female pirate who must protect her family when her past returns.
