Priyamani, known for her versatile performances in Bollywood and South Indian cinema, is making waves again with her role in Ajay Devgn's sports drama Maidaan. Despite her talent and experience, She has had fewer opportunities to work alongside A-listers in the Tamil and Telugu film industries.
In a candid interview with Gallata Plus, Priyamani addressed the question of why she has yet to be cast alongside top actors in Tamil and Telugu cinema. She was curious about the matter, stating that the decision ultimately lies with directors and producers.
Reflecting on the rumours surrounding her absence from significant projects, Priyamani revealed that she had heard speculations about actors being hesitant to work with her due to concerns about being overshadowed.
The actress said, “In all honesty, I am not trying to find fault with anybody, but I have heard from a lot of people that they don’t want to cast me opposite them or along with them or in the film because probably of the fact that ‘I might eat them up’. This is the thing I have been hearing. I know it is not true, but I still don’t know what the exact reason is. But that’s okay. Whatever the reason is, I am absolutely fine. I am very happy and content with where I am.”
Priyamani's journey in the film industry began with her debut in the Telugu film "Evaru Atagaadu" and later expanded to Bollywood with Mani Ratnam's "Raavan." She has also appeared in movies like "Chennai Express" and "Rakht Charitra 2." Additionally, Priyamani is set to appear in the highly anticipated series "The Family Man 3" alongside Manoj Bajpayee and others.
