Pooja Hegde bids goodbye to Thalapathy Vijay's last film

Pooja Hegde has officially completed her work on Jana Nayagan, the upcoming Tamil political thriller that marks a turning point for leading man Thalapathy Vijay, who is expected to transition fully into politics after the film's release. Hegde confirmed the wrap via social media, sharing a photo from the set and noting the end of her schedule.

The film, directed by H. Vinoth, sees Hegde and Vijay come together again after previously collaborating on Beast. Their on-screen pairing, especially popularized by the viral track Arabic Kuthu, was well received by audiences. Speaking to The Times of India, Hegde reflected on reuniting with Vijay and described him as a dedicated actor and a pleasant co-star.

She also commented on the emotional weight of being part of what might be Vijay’s final acting project. While fans and colleagues alike may feel a sense of loss, Hegde believes the film should be looked at as a celebration of his work in cinema.

Jana Nayagan was first announced in September 2024 and features a broad ensemble of prominent actors including Bobby Deol, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, and Shruti Haasan. It is currently scheduled to release on January 9, 2026.

Although this chapter has concluded, Hegde’s work calendar remains full. She is set to appear in Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, a film directed by David Dhawan that stars Varun Dhawan and Mrunal Thakur alongside her. Additionally, she is part of Kanchana 4, a horror-comedy franchise entry, where she will share screen space with Raghava Lawrence and Nora Fatehi.

With Jana Nayagan behind her, Hegde now shifts focus to a mix of genres and languages, continuing to navigate mainstream cinema across industries. Her upcoming projects suggest a year of varied roles and collaborations with some of the industry's most bankable names.
