Param Sundari Day 2 Box Office: Sidharth Malhotra, Janhvi Kapoor's movie shows solid jump

Param Sundari started off on a modest note making close to Rs 7 crores on day one. However, reports are coming in that the Saturday collections are way better. It seems the movie has picked up momentum after positive word of mouth. Janhvi Kapoor’s performance is getting a lot of love. Moreover, people have found the chemistry of Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor very endearing. It is a movie about the North Vs South divide with a bit of family drama thrown in. Param Sundari has apparently seen a growth of 40 per cent at the theatres on Saturday.

Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra’s Param Sundari has opened well overseas too. It is tracking similar to Saiyaara that starred Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. Param Sundari is headed towards Rs 30 crores weekend as per some reports. It is made on a budget of Rs 50 crores plus. Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor have promoted the film extensively all over the country. Param Sundari’s song Pardesiya is also a chartbuster along with Bheegi Saree and Danger. The makers did some quirky promotions that included getting influencers to dress up like the character of Janhvi Kapoor in the movie.

Param Sundari is doing better than Teri Baaton Main Aisa Uljha Jiyaa, Dhadak 2 and Bhool Chuk Maaf. Janhvi Kapoor’s last few films have failed to click at the box office. Even Sidharth Malhotra needs a theatrical success. Shershaah was a success on OTT but did little to boost the box office command of the actor. Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor’s fresh pairing also got eyeballs. She is looking stunning in the movie with the Indian look. Param Sundari is directed by Tushar Jalota who made Dasvi with Abhishek Bachchan, Nimrat Kaur and Yami Gautam. Jalota’s first movie that came on Netflix got a good response.
