Filmmaker Vikas Bahl says his colleague and close friend Anurag Kashyap is the only one who can create an Indian version of popular foreign fantasy TV series "Game Of Thrones".
"I think Anurag Kashyap is the only person who can get 'Game Of Thrones' to India with all the porn, blood and gore in it," Bahl said on the sidelines of a session at the Film Bazaar here.
The "Queen" director, who is a close associate and friend of Kashyap, expressed his view while addressing a session 'Vikas Bahl -- Choosing the film and positioning it right'.
"Game Of Thrones", a hugely popular fantasy show inspired by novelist George R.R. Martin's bestselling series, has become a phenomena across the globe due to its gripping plot. In the series various kingdoms are vying for Iron Throne and the show narrates to what extent they go to be ahead of each other. The HBO series won key Emmy Awards this year.
Meanwhile, Bahl, who recently faced a failure with "Shaandaar", also confessed that he restricted Kashyap's creative vision in "Bombay Velvet".
"I failed as a producer in 'Bombay Velvet'. It would have been Anurag's wildest film if I had not told him to refrain from going that way. I will never do that again," he said.
Set in the 1960s, "Bombay Velvet" was a large screen adaptation of Gyan Prakash's "Mumbai Fables". The story is about a man with big dreams and the extent he is willing to go to be successful. It marked Karan Johar's big acting debut with a villainous role.
