On playing a grey character in 'Wagle Ki Duniya' - Amit Varma

Sab TV's Wagle Ki Duniya is all set to witness a new entry in the upcoming episodes. The show, which is a reboot of the 90s classic recently completed one year of runtime and continues to go stronger than ever. Starring Summet Raghavan and Pariva Pranati in lead roles,  the show is all set to welcome a new entry in the form of actor Amit Varma.

Varma has been off the small screen for a long time and has been rather sporadic with his choice of roles as he now comes back with Wagle Ki Duniya. The actor will be seen playing the role of Nick, where his character will have grey shades.

Talking about how does it feel to be associated with the show, he said, "It was one of my all time favourite shows as a child. I was bowled over by the simplicity of the show and how Anjan Ji used to so genuinely portray and solve the day to day issues of society and relationships. It was an honour for me to be a part of Wagle Ki Duniya, to add to it the fact that it’s produced by Hats off who are family to me so it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of the show.

When asked about the character, he said, "Well, normally I’m known to play the Mr nice guy, but this one will be like a journey of being one on the grey side. We are all grey and make mistakes in life and how we learn and realise from them is what the show and even this character is about."

On the experience of working with the leads of the show, he said, "Oh, it was a pleasure. I have worked with both Sumeet Raghavan and Pariva Pranati in Badi Door Se and Hotel Kingston. It was great to reconnect and shoot with them, they are such wonderful co-stars and actors."

When asked if he has a message for the fans, he said, "Yes. Thank you so much for being so patient to see me on screen and no better show than Wagle to re-start it and not stop here after."

Varma has been a frequent collaborator with the producers of Wagle Ki Duniya - Hats Off Productions ranging right from Khichdi to now in Wagle Ki Duniya.
