Actor Ajay Nagrath was one of the most popular child actors back then and growing up, he managed to sustain in the entertainment industry well too. After a long-running role as an adult in CID, Nagrath wasn't seen in any other show for a while now. Now all set to make a return with a prominent role in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2, Nagrath opened up in an interview with ETimes TV as to why was he away for a long time from the small screen.
He said, “After CID wrapped up, I was in talks for a couple of projects, but none of them materialised. The pandemic was another blow. So, I feel fortunate to have bagged the character of Aditya in BALH 2. Aditya is Ram’s (played by Nakuul Mehta) closest friend and business partner."
Talking about the break, he said, “I had lost a lot of weight, around 40 kgs, following a strict diet and fitness regimen. However, unfortunately, I met with a near-fatal car accident last year fracturing three ribs and hurting my kidney. I was hospitalised for more than a week and had to be on complete bed rest for four-five months. As a result, I gained a lot of weight again. But I have been cleared by my doctors to start working out again. I am looking forward to getting back into shape.”
He ended with talking about how he was more active as a child artist but that doesn't mean he has become more selective now, "I was definitely more active as a child artiste, but it’s not that I have become selective. It’s just that I like to take up characters that are prominent and make a difference. Such offers have been few and far between. My character in BALH 2 is promising and I hope that people love and appreciate Aditya as much as they liked Pankaj in CID.”
We wish the actor all the best for his return to the small screen.
