Nobel laureate Pachauri to be honoured at IIFA 2008
Mumbai, May 22 (IANS) Nobel laureate R.K. Pachauri would be honoured with the Global Leadership Award at the Indian International Film Academy (IIFA) awards to be held at Bangkok June 6-8, the organisers of the event said here Thursday.

Mumbai, May 22 (IANS) Nobel laureate R.K. Pachauri would be honoured with the Global Leadership Award at the Indian International Film Academy (IIFA) awards to be held at Bangkok June 6-8, the organisers of the event said here Thursday.
'The annual IIFA extravaganza is not all about movies alone. It also has other topics on its agenda. The issue of global warming would be one of the topics, which IIFA 2008 would highlight with fervour,' director of Wizcraft International Entertainment Ltd Sabbas Joseph told a press conference here.
He said Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Govinda will perform on the stage during the show.
He also added that Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwariya Rai-Bachchan starrer 'Sarkar Raj' and Harry Baweja's 'Love Story 2050', starring Priyanka and Harman Baweja, would be showcased during the IIFA Weekend in Bangkok.
The 'De Taali' team comprising Aftab Shivdasani, Reitesh Deshmukh and Ayesha Takia and the cast of 'Mission Istanbul' - Zayed Khan, Vivek Oberoi and Shriya Saran - will also entertain the gathering with their performances on stage.
Apart from honouring the best of Indian movies, the IIFA 2008 will also have a fashion extravanganza to be hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar and presented by clothing brand Mufti and German luxury car manufacturer Audi.
