No make up for the cast of Yudh

Sony TV's upcoming show Yudh which star legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan in the show, makes the co-stars use minimal make up to look real on screen.

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan is poised to take the small screen by storm with his upcoming finite series YUDH, to be aired on Sony Entertainment Television. YUDH is going to change the way audiences look at primetime television with unique methods being implemented by the makers to give the show a realistic feel. One such distinctive feature is minimal or no makeup for the artists on the show.

In a departure from the usual, Anurag Kashyap, the creative director of the show took the deliberate decision of No makeup' for the artists and the entire cast welcomed the suggestion. Amitabh Bachchan, who plays the character of a real estate baron, Yudhisthir Sikarwar on the show added, "Keeping in mind that it was a directorial decision to make visuals look as real-life as possible, it was essential that the actors looked natural. That helped in the way our scenes were lit up & there were no special efforts to conceal defects, if any, on our faces. These factors work well in the overall look of the product."

The mystique around 'Yudh' continues to draw attention of the entire nation.

Well even more older Sony had even even better shows like Just Mohabbat, Aahat (season 1), Family No.1, Thoda Hain Thode Ki Zaroorat Hain etc. All these shows were superhits. In late 1990s and early 2000s Sony and Zee TV ruled. Once KSBKBT and KBC were aired on Star Plus everything changed. Since then Sony and Zee lost grounds and are still finding their way to become No.1 . Sony Tv though came to No.2 slot in 2011 is now again struggling after SAB TV, Life OK and Colors emerged strong competitors and are making full efforts by bring new type of shows. Hope Yudh clicks. Thats what I wish.
