New shows that gained momentum in 2014!

The year 2014 has witnessed many new shows. While some have been pulled off, the other shows are running successfully because of its concept or the chemistry between the leads.  We feature shows that were launched in this year and are popular among the masses.

Here are the top five shows -

Kumkum Bhagya on Zee TV that premiered on 15^th April 2014 hit the screens with a unique and interesting concept on television. The show projected the life of a woman named Sarla Arora (Supriya Shukla) who is a Punjabi matriarch who runs a marriage hall and up brings her daughters, Pragya (Sriti Jha) and Bulbul (Mrunal Thakur) in a neat and well mannered way. However, later the show started focusing on the love story of Pragya and Abhishek Prem Mehra (Shabbir Ahluwalia) which is being loved by the masses a lot for the sizzling chemistry and the lovable nok jhok.

Jamai Raja on Zee TV premiered on 4 August 2014 with an intriguing concept focusing on the Jamai. Residing at his in laws place, this Jamai tries to mend fences between a mother and daughter whose relation has gone for a toss. The concept is indeed fascinating and has attracted the masses a lot. The acting of Jamai (Rav Dubey) is quite commendable in the show.

Udaan on Colors has achieved a great success because of the brilliant acting skills of the little girl child artiste Spandan Chaturvedi who essays the role of Chakor. The show which premiered on 18 August 2014, traces the social issue of  bonded labor which is still prevalent in our country. The show's USP is the acting talent and the concept execution.

Nisha Aur Uske Cousins on Star Plus that aired on 18^th August 2014 is gaining popularity for its new and different storyline. The story of the show is based on the bond between the cousins and the family disputes that are caused by the difference of opinions due to a generation gap. The show is about an Indian joint family residing in Jaipur. It shows the bond between Nisha (Aneri Vajani) and her cousins as how she tries to convince each and every one in spite being a tomboy in nature. Lately the love interest of Nisha has been introduced in the show namely Viraj (Tahir Mithaiwala) which has again become the peak point of the show.

Meri Aashiqui Tumse Hi on Colors hit the small screen in the mid of the year 2014 and has garnered huge popularity since its launch. The show launched its first episode on 24 June with fresh pair of Ishani (Radhika Madan) and Ranveer (Shakti Arora) portraying a single sided love story that has been loved by the viewers and is one of the most popular shows now on television. The show also marked the comeback of Gauri Pradhan Tejwani on television after five years.
