COVID-19 has been a tricky situation for many and while anyone testing positive isn't new exactly but what has happened with actor Namish Taneja is indeed one-of-a-kind situation.
A few months ago, Taneja's family tested positive but the actor himself tested negative for the virus. Now, with Maldives being a favorite holiday spot for one and all, the actor along with girlfriend Aanchal Sharma jetted off to the holiday location for a vacation. Now, in a tricky situation, Taneja has tested positive for COVID-19 while Sharma hasn't. This happened when their trip was just about to get over and now, owing to Taneja's diagnosis, he is stuck in Maldives for an extended period and has to quarantines there while Sharma had to return to Mumbai.
Talking about it to ETimes TV, Taneja said, "Last year, most of the time, either I was shooting or stayed at home because of the pandemic. In February, when the situation was a bit normal, we decided to go on a short trip. We had initially planned to visit New York, but later we changed the plan and decided to go to Maldives. We had booked everything before the second wave of COVID-19." The actor, who has done many TV shows like Vidya and Swaragini, said, "As per the protocol, everyone is required to take a COVID-19 test before departure and on arrival, in India. We were COVID negative when we left for Maldives and landed here on April 10. Since we were supposed to leave after four days, on April 12, we again underwent the test. My tests were positive and thankfully Aanchal tested negative for the virus."
He added, "I convinced Aanchal to go back to Mumbai. It was a heartbreaking moment for both of us, she was crying because she had to leave me alone. The saddest part was; we could not even hug each other before she left."
He concluded saying, "I am asymptomatic and have isolated myself in the hotel room. Since I am alone, and cannot go outside, I am reading good books and watching movies. I will again undergo a COVID test after a few days."
We wish the actor recovers at the soonest.
