My Mom and Me...

Mothers are the most beautiful creations of God, and there are no two thoughts about it!!

As the whole universe celebrates Mother's Day today and dedicate this Special Day to their lovely mothers, we talk to few of the girls from the telly land to see how inspirational their mothers have been to them...

Aasiya Kazi, who plays the lead role in NDTV Imagine's Bandini is always accompanied on sets by her mother. When asked her about her mom and her plans for the day, she quips "My mom is very supportive, she always accompanies me to the sets. I need not even look at the time in the midst of my hectic schedule, as she takes care of my food chart very nicely. Whatever I am today, is because of my mom and I have learned everything that I know of today from her. Talking about my plans for Mother' Day, I will mostly be shooting on the day, so no great plans. But I will surely celebrate Mother's Day".

Prachi Desai who started her career with Kasamh Se went on to win the second Season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, and now she is winning all hearts on the big screen. All are aware that Prachi's mom has been a great inspiration for the girl, and here is Prachi thanking her mother on the D-day. Says Prachi, "My mom is my biggest moral support and she has left everything for me and stays with me. My dad is in Gujarat but my mom has always stood by me whenever I needed her. I am very lucky to have her in my life".

Talking about the similarities that she and her mom have, Prachi quips, "We both are hard working and give the best shot to whatever we do. We both love animals, but I am very scared of dogs". On the plans for the day, the actress states, "I will be in Delhi on Sunday, but I will surely plan something great, once I am back. Coincidentally, it is my parents' wedding anniversary on the same day, so want to do something unique.

Hina Khan, the very gorgeous and innocent Akshara of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai is one more actress who is accompanied by her mom on sets. "My mom supports me a lot and whenever she is in Mumbai, she comes with me to the sets. She takes care of every single detail and also helps me maintain proper and timely diet". Talking about the similarities, Hina adds, "We both behave in the same way and both are short tempered".  On the plans for the day, she quips, "I am planning to take her shopping. I think every woman loves to shop, and my mom will be very happy to do that".

Anjorie Alagh who is set to debut in television with NDTV Imagine's Seeta Geeta has a role model in her mother Maya Alagh, who is also a very talented actress. Says the actress on her mom, "I have got lot of support from my mom, and she has always supported me in my decisions. She is very excited to see me on television in Seeta Geeta. On this special day, I just want to tell her that I love her very much, and that she has been a pillar of strength and support without who I would not have seen this day".


Purbhi Joshi, is yet another lucky actress who has been brought up under the guidance of an able mother and a talented actress Sarita Joshi popularly known as Baa of Baa Bahu Aur Baby. On this Special Day, Purbhi says, "She has guided and supported me in every possible way. We belong to the same industry, and she is the best mom that anyone can have. However I don't think we need a special day to thank our mothers. I tell her everyday that she is the best thing in my life".

Juhi Babbar, who is seen in NDTV Imagine's Ghar Ki Baat Hai has also received lot of encouragement from her mother Nadira Babbar. Says Juhi, "I have got all the support from my mom. I started my career with my mother's theater group, and all credit to her for whatever I am today. She is like my Guru. I just want to say that I love her, and am very much blessed to have a mother like her".
