Music Review: Main Tera Hero

Main Tera Hero, releasing on 4th April, has the dynamic music-composing duo Sajid-Wajid teaming up with lyricist Kumaar to give a melodious album of six songs, two of which are remixes.

With a successful debut performance in Student of the Year, Varun Dhawan is all set to scorch the screens again alongside Ileana D'Cruz and Nargis Fakhri with an upcoming rom-com, Main Tera Hero. The movie, directed by David Dhawan, is expected to be released on 4th April, 2014 and is a remake of the Telugu flick, Kandireega. The dynamic music-composing duo Sajid-Wajid (Sajid Ali and Wajid Ali) teamed up with lyricist Kumaar, unless stated differently, to give a melodious album of six songs, two of which are remixes.

The album opens with "Besharmi Ki Height", an upbeat number sung by the talented Benny Dayal and Shalmali Kholgade. This peppy song is fantastic for the dance floor and is bound to have everyone shaking a leg to its uptempo beats. It also boasts of some very catchy lyrics that are bound to get stuck in your head!

Next up is one of the two songs penned by Kausar Munir and Danish Sabri, "Palat - Tera Hero Idhar Hai". This title track features the vocals of none other than the current master himself, Arijit Singh. Another party song in this album's kitty, this track presents a symphony of various instruments and is bound to get you grooving. However, there's a strong correspondence of the song with a popular peppy 80s number "Jahan Teri Yeh Nazar Hai" from Kaalia.

Arijit Singh teamed up with Shalmali Kholgade for this next dance number, "Shanivaar Raati". Instantly likable with catchy music and lyrics and its fair share of musical instruments, this foot-tapping number is another great track for a DJ's playlist.

Javed Ali and Neeti Mohan lend their magical vocals for this Kausar Munir and Danish Sabri number, "Galat Baat Hai". Sober compared to the rest of this album's tracks, this song is a respite to the ears after all the upbeat party tracks. However, the excessive inclusions of the instruments are a drag.

DJ Notorious then remixes "Besharmi Ki Height". While the song is not too different from its original, the remix does give it that extra boost that the original didn't provide, making it perfect for a party playlist.

The album concludes with "Shanivaar Raati" remix by DJ Chetas. This remix, unlike the other, is unique from the original and features vocals in a higher pitch and added instrumentals, making it perfect for clubs.

The romantic comedy is said to have some action included, so coupled with this remarkable album, Main Tera Hero is hopeful to be one of this year's biggest hit. BollyCurry encourages all to try these songs and let us know what you think in the comments below.
