For years, as the Kardashian commercial machine engulfed every facet of pop culture, Anna Wintour stood firm, keeping the Met Gala red carpet exempt of reality Stars. The Kardashian-Jenners have officially taken over the Met Gala red carpet in the year 2022; it was bound to occur, but it's astounding it took this long.

Kourtney Kardashian's invitation comes as no surprise. The oldest sister has received a lot of attention in recent months as a result of her high-profile connection with Travis Barker.

They've all developed their own distinguishable individual taste in recent years, and it's exciting to see how that translates to a Met Gala look. Kris held it simple in a yellow off-the-shoulder Oscar de la Renta gown reminiscent of Jennifer Lopez's 2003 Valentino Oscar gown.

Khloé was always going to turn up in a skimpy dress, something that exquisitely wraps her body, so her Moschino number stands to reason. The crystal-encrusted gown is evocative of her sister Kim's "Wet Dress" from the 2019 Gala. The inclusion of black gloves embellished with extra weave adds to the drama of the outfit and personalises it for Khloe.

Both Kourtney and Travis are dolled up pleasantly, with Kourt in a cropped button down and an unfastened bowtie around her neck. Her skirt is made up of a cummerbund corset connected to deadstock fabric from some other suit that hangs off her and creates a train. Travis, for his role, wore a conventional suit jacket with tails, but he blended it up with a pleated skirt on upper edge of his pants; a signature Browne look.

Kylie wore an Off-White bridal gown crafted by Virgil Abloh. The look took over the streets as she stepped, with tiers of ruffles on her skirt. Meanwhile, the top is more fitted, with a bustier torso and a sheer t-shirt beneath. But it's the veil, which is connected to a white baseball cap, that adds to a truly Abloh look.

Kylie stood next to her sister, Kendall, on the red carpet, and their ruffled ball gown skirts complemented each other perfectly. Kendall, for her part, sported Burberry, partnering her striking skirt with a sheer top of her own styling. Kendall wasn't wearing a cap, but she did have her own surprising attribute: bleached eye brows, which provided a contemporary dynamic to the overall appearance.

But, in the end, it was Kim who was titled the Kardashian clan's pinnacle. The reality star walked the red carpet with her boyfriend, Pete Davidson, flaunting her newly bleached blonde hair and an antique Bob Mackie gown. Rumors had circulated for days that Kim would be donning one of Marilyn Monroe's old outfits, and they found to be true. Pete wore a simple tux to avoid drawing attention away from Kim, who looked stunning in Monroe's 60-year-old gown.

The art show "In America: An Anthology of Fashion" is a kind of of spinoff to last year's theme, "In America: A Lexicon in Fashion." Vogue has introduced more precise details to the dress code, including both "Gilded Glamour" and "white-tie" as part of the outfit, in order to prevent recurrence in the style of dress we see on the red carpet.
