Needless to say, Aryan is a reluctant superhero, oblivious to the fact that his 18th birthday will change his life forever. Like any other boy his age, his world revolves around his friends, dreams, his love interest, family and his career aspirations. Little does Aryan know that he will soon find himself combating the thirteen forms of evil trapped in various layers of the earth in order to save the world. Capturing the boy's journey from an average Joe to discovering a hero within, Zee TV's latest offering Maharakshak Aryan is a two-fold narrative of coming-of-age and a walk into the darker realms of fantasy where a hero will face his worst fears, rewrite destiny and emerge a winner.
With the art director for films such as Saawariya, Black and the director of Mary Kom, Omung Kumar, being roped in for the production design of the show, Zee TV has pushed the envelope in terms of creating an out-of-this-world ambiance and the most fascinating landscapes for the under-earth battles between Good and Evil. With the use of world-class, state-of-the-art graphics technology and never-before-seen visual effects on Indian television, Aryan will be the slickest, most spectacular superhero series on television, comparable with any Hollywood superhero film.
Zee TV Programming Head Namit Sharma said, "With shows like Neeli Chhatri Wale, Dil Se Naachein Indiawaale and now Mahrakshak Aryan, we're building a power-packed weekend for our viewers, with content that engages every family member. Aryan and, in fact, the entire Mahrakshak trilogy is one of our most ambitious projects - very different from any of the content we currently have on air. The ability of a superhero series of transporting viewers into an exciting world of fantasy is remarkable. However, Indian television hasn't seen any slick, cutting-edge superhero series in a really long time. Indian audiences often find themselves turning to dubbed versions of superhero classics from Hollywood to experience this genre. We aim to change that with the Mahrakshak series."
Aryan is the first amongst Zee TV's superhero trilogy Maharakshak' that will showcase the triumph of good over evil. Playing the role of young Aryan will be debutant Aakarshan Singh, a fresh-faced 20 year old from Haryana. With his affable disposition and youthful spunk, Aakarshan is all set to charm his way into the hearts of the audience. He was chosen after several rounds of auditions that required him to exhibit his acting talent and prowess over martial arts. What set him apart from the rest was his charming demeanor, confidence, determination to prove himself at every challenge and his conviction with which he enacted the part.
The show with its innovative visual effects, high production values, cutting edge stunts and ingenious cinematography is all set to raise the bar for action thrillers and the fantasy genre on Indian television. Catch Aryan as he battles it out against a new villain each week in this finite series of 26 episodes spanning over 13 weeks, starting late October only on Zee TV.
