Bollywood filmmaker and Mandira Bedi’s husband Raj Kaushal's sudden demise was a shock to the entire film industry. Many actors and filmmakers shared their condolences with his wife and some even penned heartfelt notes remembering the loving soul. Raj is survived by wife Mandira, son Veer and daughter Tara.

The actress has been a steady pillar who continues to look after the family now, and she was also seen performing her husband Raj Kaushal’s last rites and carrying the bier. Traditionally, the ceremony is performed by men in India.

While a section of Mandira’s followers praised her for breaking stereotypes, many questioned and trolled her for doing so.

Now, singer Sona Mohapatra and actress Mini Mathur came out in support of Mandira who drew flak for her actions during husband Raj Kaushal's funeral. The Saaho actress was even criticized for her dress code. Reacting to the same, Sona took to Twitter and reacted strongly as she wrote: “That some people are still commenting on Mandira Bedi’s dress code or choice to carry out her husband Raj Kushal’s last rites shouldn’t surprise us. Stupidity is more abundant than any other element in our world after all ..”

Earlier today, actress Mini Mathur also offered her support to Mandira, as she shared her views on the entire controversy. Slamming the comments Mandira has drawn since a few days now, Mini tweeted, “Makes me sick that people are having a field day trolling a grieving woman for performing last rites on her husband instead of asking a stranger or her tiny kid. Or for not having the time to dress the way THEY imagine grieving women should dress. Fools!! Applaud her strength!”

The last rites thing is idiotic... She has a very young son who obviously can't be tasked with this in the midst of COVID and all the media. But also, I'm an only child and female... my father has no brothers and I've seen my mom's brother only 5 times in my life. If we're talking about my father's cousins or uncles, he saw most of them for the first time in a decade when my grandpa passed. You can't seriously tell me any of these people have the right to perform their last rites (in the very, very distant future) over me. What are women in these situations expected to do?

Who in their right mind would troll a woman who just lost her husband of more than two decades?! Insensitive aholes

Mandira looks heartbroken. Only an insensitive person will troll her. Intention matters more than clothes.

There is no right way to grieve, everyone is different and have different circumstances to deal with. Some awful women commented on why my mum was not still crying few days after her father died. She heard them and it hurt her more. Be kind people.
