Television’s hit running show Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi has been renewed for the third season and Producer Mamta Yash Patnaik believes through their show they have created a new legacy in terms of storytelling.
In May, the makers released the promo of the latest season featuring Shaheer Sheikh, Erica Fernandes and Supriya Pilgaonkar. Unlike other daily soaps that primarily revolve around family politics shown through the eyes of saas-bahu, Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi is a mature love story of Devrath Dixit (Shaheer), a successful business tycoon and Dr. Sonakshi Bose (Erica), a nutritionist.
Mamta says Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi has been a very special franchise for her company, Beyond Dreams. “Kuchh Rang...’ is real, true, and beautiful. The success of its earlier seasons has set the expectations for the new season,” she adds.
Mamta says to write an unconventional story like Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi was more exciting than challenging. “In a saas bahu drama where there are clear black and white characters and the protagonists are sanitized, in ‘Kuch Rang …’ the characters are human. We all evolve in life and in our relationships and I am glad that we are able to showcase it through the show. As the story progresses it will grow on people. So more than challenging, it was rather exciting to write and present all of these things in our story,” she adds.
The shoot of the third season is underway and Mamta says the team has been adhering to all the necessary COVID-19 guidelines. “This pandemic has taught us many valuable lessons. Now everyone understands the importance of health and wellbeing. As a company we are diligently taking all possible precautions in terms of SOPs to provide a safe workplace,” she says, adding, each and every cast and crew member has been vaccinated.
The romantic drama show is aired on Sony TV. Talking about the creative synergy between her and her producer husband Yash Patnaik, Mamta says, they both share a common vision of narrating content-driven stories.
“All our projects are our shared vision and we are equally passionate about everything we do. We don't have barricades when it comes to our contributions to the project. We discuss everything from concepts, stories, characters, casting to production design. It is indeed a collective effort,” she adds.
