Maheep Kapoor on how love story with Sanjay Kapoor started with a one-night stand

Maheep Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor have been married for 30 years now. However, their love story was extremely unconventional, and resonates with Gen-Z. In a recent interview, she said she had met Sanjay Kapoor just for a one-night stand, and also gatecrashed his party in a drunken state.  She was talking to YouTuber Raunaq Rajani on his Podcast. Maheep Kapoor who was a model before she married Sanjay Kapoor is from Australia where her parents migrated when she was young. Maheep Kapoor said the cultural exposure helped her grow as a person. 

She said she had a one-night stand with the actor without even thinking or knowing that they would end up as a couple. Maheep Kapoor also narrated how she gatecrashed his party where she ended up meeting the whole Kapoor clan. The jewellery designer who is a part of Fabulous Lives Vs Bollywood Wives said, “I met the whole family, mother-in-law, father-in-law… you guys know my family, right? Anil (Kapoor), Sunita, Sri(devi). And I was dead drunk but they still accepted me and said, ‘Wow, what an amazing future daughter-in-law. They welcomed me with open arms.” 

The two were together for five years before they tied the knot. It seems they knew that they would end up together. Maheep Kapoor said there was no dreamy proposal and all. The concept of Instagram was non-existent. She said as a couple they did not bother about the world. Sanjay Kapoor told her early on that they would marry. The pair have been together for 30 years now. Maheep also revealed that he asked her to party when they were partying together at a hotspot in Colaba. It seems she agreed in between tequila shots. Well, this speaks volumes about how chilled the Kapoor family is with its women. 

Like her sister-in-law Sunita Kapoor, Maheep too is a jewellery designer. She was the runners-up in the Femina Miss India 1993 pageant. She has a specialization in diamond jewellery. Her collection for a label was quite famous. Maheep Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor have two children Shanaya Kapoor and Jahan Kapoor. Their daughter is all set to make her debut with Vikrant Massey in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyaan.
