In a major announcement that could redefine the animated landscape of Indian cinema, Hombale Films has partnered with Kleem Productions to launch the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe. This massive storytelling plan will unfold over twelve years and feature a series of high-profile animated films based on the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu.
The official film lineup spans from 2025 to 2037 and includes the following titles:
Mahavatar Narsimha in 2025
Mahavatar Parshuram in 2027
Mahavatar Raghunandan in 2029
Mahavatar Dhawkadhesh in 2031
Mahavatar Gokulananda in 2033
Mahavatar Kalki Part 1 in 2035
Mahavatar Kalki Part 2 in 2037
The journey begins with Mahavatar Narsimha, scheduled to release on 25 July 2025. The film will arrive in five Indian languages and will also be available in 3D. Director Ashwin Kumar is leading the project while producers Shilpaa Dhawan, Kushal Desai and Chaitanya Desai are driving the production under Kleem. Hombale Films is presenting the series.
The Mahavatar franchise is not limited to cinema alone. The creators have confirmed plans to build a full ecosystem around the films. This includes comic books, immersive gaming experiences, digital storytelling extensions and a wide range of collectibles aimed at different age groups.

With each film focusing on a different avatar and releasing two years apart, the plan appears to be a calculated effort to create sustained audience engagement.
Hombale Films is already known for delivering mass appeal projects while Kleem aims to root the franchise in traditional storytelling formats. The collaboration between the two studios signals a larger movement toward building homegrown universes that can compete with global franchises.
With a combination of religious familiarity, long-term planning and cross-platform expansion, the Mahavatar Cinematic Universe may mark a new chapter in Indian mythological entertainment.
