Maanvi Gagroo reveals her Horrifying Casting Couch Experience; Says ‘Their office had a bed’!

The rise of MeToo moment sparked courage amongst many Bollywood actresses. The movement indicated the necessary changes which would provide security to the women working in any sector. The campaign instantly grabbed attention and it took no time to go nationwide. In a year of its inception, the movement has proliferated successfully, even today many actresses have managed to gather courage and speak about the injustice levied upon them.

Now, the reports in SpotboyE have revealed the horrifying experience suffered by actress Maanvi Gagroo. The Ujda Chaman actress revealed her casting couch experience and how she managed to get away with it. When the actress was asked if she faced such an incident, she shared:

Not exactly, but I remember I had ran out of an audition that required me to do an attempt-to-rape scene in a sleazy office with just 2 men seated next in the room. The room, which they called as their office, also had a bed.

Gagroo mentioned she was completely rattled, petrified and fearing for her safety. She also revealed that she ran out in order to save her life. Their attempts to convince her proved futile. 

She further clarified that she almost did not do Ujda Chaman as the makers needed her to put on 15 kg for the role and she didn’t want to do that as she was shooting for 2 more projects simultaneously at the time (Four More Shots Please 2 and Shubh Mangal Zyada Savdhaan.).

The major similarity between any the MeToo story has been the need for work. It's a common conjecture that everyone has to work for a living but suffering from such toxic work conditions has never been an option. And seems like every Bollywood celebrity has repeatedly tried to point out this decisive clause.
