Celebrities have taken to social media to express outrage and demand justice for the murder of Ahmaud Arbery, a black man who was fatally shot by two white men with ties to law enforcement while jogging in February.

Arbery was chased and shot on Feb. 23 in Brunswick, Ga. Police have identified the men who gunned down Arbery as Gregory McMichael, 64, and his son, Travis McMichael, 34. The two were arrested on Thursday by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, 10 weeks after the shooting.

More celebrities have joined the rally to seek justice for the murder of Ahmaud. Following the leadership established by the NBA star Lebron James expressing his outrage, Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian and Ellen Degeneres. He turned to his individual Twitter account to condemn the fatal shooting of the 25-year-old, writing “We’re literally hunted EVERYDAY/EVERYTIME we step foot outside the comfort of our homes! Can’t even go for a damn jog man!”

Taylor Swift expressed her outrage over the killing, calling it “senseless, cold blooded, [and] racially motivated.” DeGeneres also shared a similar sentiment in her tweet when she wrote: "This young man was jogging, and he was hunted down and killed for no reason other than the color of his skin. His name is Ahmaud Arbery."

Director Ava DuVernay provided a call to action, imploring others to join in demanding Waycross county district attorney George Barnhill resign for making no charges or arrests. 

Olivia Wilde shared details for a distance run taking place on Friday to honor Arbery on what would’ve been his 26th birthday. The dedication run was created by Jason Vaughn, Arbery’s high school football coach, with 2.23 miles representing the date of Arbery’s death.

Criminal justice activist Kardashian, meanwhile, went one step further by urging fans to sign a Change.org petition calling for the men responsible for Arbery's death. "Sign this petition to press charges and bring justice to the family of Ahmaud Arbery #JusticeForAhmaudArbery", "el"keeping up with the Kardashians"star tweeted.

James and presidential candidate Joe Biden were the first to share their anger online. Since then, Sean "P Diddy"Combs, Justin Timberlake, Michael B. Jordan and Viola Davis They have joined the cause along with several other stars.

The posted video has sparked widespread outrage at the Arbery murder. Late Thursday, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation announced that the McMichaels were finally arrested. They were charged with murder and aggravated assault. As the two men confronted Arbery with firearms, it was Travis who fired the fatal shot.
