After having a vast experience doing seven reality shows like Zor Ka Jhatka and Iss Jungle Se Mujhe Bachao, Kushal Punjabi,
is all poised to make a hard-hitting film based on the truth behind
popular television reality shows. The movie though will not show any
negative aspects of the reality shows and will be completely factual
based on the extensive research that Kushal has done for this.
Telly Buzz contacted Kushal and he said, "I have been a part of seven reality shows and have won five of them. There was also one show in which I had made it to the top two but lost out due to audience votes. My close ones doubted on the format of the show as they believed that I deserved to win. It was then that I decided to explore about the audience votes, who is responsible for counting them, how real are the final results and so on."
"I wanted to see what really goes into the formatting of the show, what happens to the messages that the audience send, where does the money and stuffs like that go. I also wanted to know why the stars take up the shows. Is it because they just have to be themselves in these reality shows, or is it the 'money in short time' that drives them to this."
"I have also done a research on why most of the reality shows are adapted from their original ones and realised that there are certain policies the Production Houses like Endemol India and BBC are bound to follow as their main offices are based abroad."
"I wanted to know why people from different walks of life participate in these shows. Is it fame, money or are they planning to make a career from this platform. There are a lot of things in the movie the audience would like to see and know about reality shows and it will be shown in a light hearted manner with equal element of fun and seriousness."
Kushal is planning to cast several participants of reality shows including certain judges if everything falls in place.
Telly Buzz wishes him all the best for his new step in his career.

How can it be completely factual based documentary without showing negative aspects of reality TV, too? That doesn't make sense to me. We all know that many shows are scripted and the elimination process is often manipulated by the makers.
