Kunickaa SLAMMED by Kumar Sanu's son Jaan for dismissing rape in industry: 'Hands on married men..'

That is exactly what has happened with actress and television host Kunickaa Sadanand, currently a contestant in the Bigg Boss 19 house. A months-old interview of hers has suddenly gone viral, drawing heavy criticism for her controversial take on sexual assault within the film industry.

The clip in question is from an interview Kunickaa gave to radio host Siddharth Kannan nearly eight months ago. In the conversation, she made claims that have now been deemed deeply problematic by many viewers online. Speaking about sexual misconduct in the entertainment industry, Kunickaa suggested that the concept of rape does not apply to Bollywood in the conventional sense, implying that many women subtly invite attention from powerful men in the industry.

She stated, “In our industry, I believe rape doesn’t really happen. Somewhere, the girl also gives a signal.” She went on to give an example of how merely asking a filmmaker about a potential role could be perceived as an invitation. To make her point, she repeated her statement in a more suggestive tone, which has further angered netizens.

In another part of the interview, when the host referenced actresses behaving playfully with directors, Kunickaa responded by saying that even something as small as complimenting someone’s perfume could lead to unwanted consequences. She concluded her point by saying she has never encountered any such situation herself because she has always been “clear and straightforward” in her approach, adding that she never aspired to become a heroine at any cost.

The comments have since gone viral, with many social media users slamming her views as dismissive and harmful to survivors of abuse who often struggle to be believed.

Amid the outrage, singer Jaan Kumar Sanu also weighed in with a sharp personal attack. Reacting to the viral video on Instagram, he wrote, “She did this herself her whole life. With married men and whoever she could get hands on. Mooh kholna nahi hai zyada. Bahot dhotiya khul jaayenge phir.” His comment is being seen as a veiled reference to Kunickaa’s past relationship with his father, singer Kumar Sanu, during a time when the latter was still married.
