Kriti Sanon to star in a horror comedy produced by Aanand L. Rai; filmimg to kickstart in 2025

After the success of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and Crew, Kriti Sanon is riding high with a promising lineup of projects for 2025. While she is already confirmed to star in Aanand L. Rai’s Tere Ishq Mein alongside Dhanush, sources reveal that the actress has also signed another film with Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions.

“Kriti Sanon has been discussing multiple collaborations with Aanand L. Rai, and is extremely fond of his work. The actress has loved a horror comedy to be bankrolled by ALR, and has given a go ahead to the same. The film in question will go on floors by mid-2025, once a major chunk of Tere Ishq Mein is wrapped up,” a source close to Pinkvilla shared.

Tentatively titled Nayi Naveli, the film is expected to offer a fresh take on the popular horror-comedy genre. “Horror comedies are currently trending, and Nayi Naveli aims to bring a fresh perspective to the genre. Kriti is thrilled about the dynamics of her character and is looking forward to how the story, rooted in folklore, will unfold on screen,” the source added.

While details about the director remain under wraps, the project has reportedly been in development at Rai’s office for some time. Pre-production work is set to begin in January 2025, with the team eager to delve into this new genre.

Meanwhile, Aanand L. Rai is also preparing to helm Tanu Weds Manu 3 by the end of 2025, bringing back Kangana Ranaut and R. Madhavan for the much-anticipated sequel.

With Nayi Naveli, Sanon continues to diversify her filmography, further cementing her place as a versatile performer in the industry.
