Ace designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee is often in the news for his extravagant sartorial collections but recently made it to the headlines for a rather absurd statement. Sabyasachi recently attended the Harvard India press conference where he was asked to comment on the reluctance among young Indian women to wear a sari.
Responding to the same, the designer expressed, "I think, if you tell me that you do not know how to wear a sari, I would say shame on you. It's a part of your culture; (you) need to stand up for it". This statement drew a lot of flak towards Sabyasachi Mukherjee which made the Kolkata based designer to write an open letter.
This statement from Sabyasachi shook a lot of women and when actress Kriti Kharbanda in an interview with us was asked to comment on the same, here's what she said, "Honestly, I cannot comment on something that I've haven't heard it at first hand".
"The only thing I know is that it is very important who we represent and what we represent. If you feel a certain way it is very important that you tell all your thoughts only to the concerned people. If you're representing a country, no matter whoever it is; you have to be very careful with the kind of words you use. This is all I have to say", concluded Kriti.
On the work front, Kriti had a successful stint with her last release Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana and now is all set for the release of her upcoming film 'Veerey Ki Wedding' with Pulkit Samrat. Kharbanda also has Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se lined up in 2018 for which she is pretty excited.
