Kareena Kapoor Reflects on the ‘Weird’ Experience of Romancing Akshay Kumar, Thanks to Karisma Kapoor

Bollywood stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Akshay Kumar have shared the screen in numerous films, but Kareena once revealed that it felt “weird” to romance Akshay, considering he was her sister Karisma Kapoor's co-star. In a lighthearted conversation with Akshay's wife, Twinkle Khanna, on her Tweak India platform, Kareena fondly recalled her childhood visits to the sets of Akshay and Karisma’s movies, reminiscing about how she would sit on people's laps, soaking in the lively atmosphere.

In a chat with Akshay's wife, Twinkle Khanna, in a recent interview Kareena humorously reflected on the experience of romancing Karisma’s co-stars, describing it as 'weird'. She fondly recalled that during Akshay's first shot, she was in her school uniform.

She noted how much time has passed since then and said, "I am romancing all of Lolo's (Karisma) co-stars, it's so weird. (During) Akshay's first shot, I was in my school uniform. It's been such a long time, it just shows how amazing he is rather than me." 

Twinkle interjected, highlighting that this dynamic also underscores the disparity in career longevity between male and female actors in the industry. Kareena agreed, emphasizing that both of them are challenging this narrative, with Twinkle still being one of the top female actors even after two decades in Bollywood.

The actress humorously predicted that she might still be acting alongside Akshay when she turns 75, joking that he will likely remain active in the industry for years to come. She even mentioned that Akshay had proposed the idea of a two-hero film featuring her son, Taimur.

On the work front, Kareena made headlines earlier this year with the hit film Crew, alongside Tabu, Kriti Sanon, and Diljit Dosanjh. Just in time for Diwali on November 1, her highly anticipated multi-starrer Singham Again also hit theaters.

As she approaches her milestone 25th year in the film industry, Kareena is eager to take on as many projects as possible to mark the occasion. According to an insider, she has signed on for a significant film expected to be one of the most thrilling features in Indian cinema over the next two years.
