Karan Mehra received an anticipatory bail in August 2021 for himself, his parents and brother, in domestic violence case filed by estranged wife, actor Nisha Rawal. And now, Karan is rather happy that the Mumbai High Court decided to put a stay on the second FIR.
Nisha accused Karan of domestic violence on May 31 last year and also went on to say that he withdrew over ₹1 crore from her bank account. The actor was arrested for alleged assault, however, he was granted bail. Following this, Nisha filed another FIR, this time against Karan as well as his family, under IPC sections 498-A, 377, 406, 323, 504 & 506 r/w Section 34 of Indian Penal Code.
Mehra went on to talk about the same and said,
“We wanted a stay and it has now happened. It is a win that now the court will decide on the FIR and the police can’t file a charge sheet, though it can investigate. Now, we fight the case in court.”
The actor also went on to say that he has gathered relevant proof and it took a lot of effort to do the same. He mentioned how his family's relief was his priority and he is also working on the first FIR.
Meanwhile, he also mentioned how people asked him to 'compromise and move on in life'. He went on to question what kind of a father, son, or a person would simply do that and revealed how Nisha has been projecting different versions (of their relationship and problems) in the media and claimed how every statement differs from the other.
