Kajol and Rani Mukerji’s Durga Puja Reunion Sparks Nostalgia for 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'

Kajol is set to appear next in the thriller film Do Patti, while Rani Mukerji recently bagged the IIFA Award for her role in Mrs. Chatterjee vs Norway. During the Durga Puja celebrations at a pandal in Mumbai today, Kajol and Rani delighted fans with a mini reunion reminiscent of their iconic film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. The two stars, known for their memorable roles in the 1998 classic, were spotted together, and a video capturing their interaction quickly went viral on social media.

In the viral clip, Rani Mukerji is seen in a stunning red and black saree, while Kajol dazzles in an orange saree. The two actresses embraced warmly and exchanged greetings, prompting fans to flood the comment section with heart emojis. Many fans even mentioned Anjali, the beloved character from their film. Rani was also seen removing her footwear before greeting everyone at the pandal.

This year, Kajol and Rani will host the Durga Puja pandal near SNDT Women’s University in Juhu, known as the North Bombay Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal. The actresses are renowned for organizing grand celebrations to welcome Maa Durga. Last year, during the festivities, Kajol sought the blessings of the Goddess at the same pandal, accompanied by her son Yug. Dressed in a pink saree, she looked radiant while her son wore a traditional white kurta pyjama. Other celebrities, including Rani Mukerji, Jaya Bachchan, and Tanisha Mukerji, also paid a visit to the Durga Puja pandal.

On the professional front, Kajol’s upcoming thriller, Do Patti, is directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi and written by Kanika Dhillon. Starring Kriti Sanon and Shaheer Sheikh alongside Kajol, this gripping tale will stream on Netflix on October 25. The drama-thriller follows the story of twin sisters with deep secrets and a relentless police inspector determined to uncover the truth behind an attempted murder. Set in the misty hills of the fictional town of Devipur, Uttarakhand, the plot intertwines love, betrayal, and revenge, promising a thrilling exploration of morality and justice.

In contrast, Rani Mukerji, fresh off her IIFA Award win, is yet to announce her next film project. Fans eagerly await her next move in the industry.
