Bollywood's beloved veteran actor Kader Khan left for heavenly abode a few hours back.
According to Ahmed Khan, a close relative, he passed away around 4 a.m. (IST).
He said the last rites will be held in a Toronto cemetery later in the day.
As reported earlier, the veteran who was living with his son, Sarfaraz and daughter-in-law Shahista in Canada, was rushed to the hospital after he complained of breathing issues a few days back.
He had been unwell for the past many days and had to put on a ventilator but recently after he started facing breathlessness, he was shifted from a normal ventilator to a special BiPAP ventilator.
The actor was showing symptoms of pneumonia and due to which he was unable to communicate. Following his critical health, he had to be put on a BiPAP ventilator instead of a normal one.
His son Sarfaraz told a media portal in an earlier interview that recently Kader underwent knee surgery. Despite successful surgery, the actor couldn't walk owing to his ill health.
"The surgery did not go wrong. It was just that my father refused to get up after the surgery. We were told that he has to make an effort and try to start walking from the next day. He just didn't do that and",Sarfaraz was quoted saying.
The actor was said to be suffering from Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). It is a degenerative disease involving slow deterioration and loss of specific volumes of the brain.
The condition leads to symptoms including loss of balance, slowing of movement, difficulty moving the eyes, and dementia. This health issue is extremely rare, though.
We pray for his departed soul to rest in peace and may God grant courage to the family to bear the loss.

RIP Kader Khan Ji. You will be truly missed. One of the most talented n versatile actors. I grew up watching his movies whether it was from 70-80 with SR Bachchan, Sashi Kapoor, Jeetendra, Shakti Kapoor, Srideviji or 90s with Govinda, Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt. From villian, comedian, father to greedy man, he portrayed n fitted any role, but he was great script & dilagoue writer too
