Itishree's high hopes dashed.

Ratna Sinha’s Babul Ka Angann Chootey Na had recently introduced Adi Irani in the show as the high profile director. But due to the new thriller element that track was shelved for some time. But it has been heard that Itishree was not very pleased when she learnt that Adi was being cast to play the character.

Itishree was initially told that Kumar Gaurav might be cast for the same and the young lass was excited at the prospect of working with an actor of such high caliber. But her dream was completely shattered when Adi was finalized for the role. As Itishree says, “Please, don’t even remind me about that. I have come out of that phase with a lot of difficulty. I was highly disappointed (laughs). I was sad though and why wouldn’t I be? They gave me a long list of names like Kumar Gaurav, Jackie Shroff, and then finalized Adi Irani for the role. Bade bade sapne dikhaaake choor choor kar diya… Kya kare?”

Commenting on the same, Adi says, “I do not know who all were considered for this role. I got a call one day; I read the script and immediately said yes to it. Only after you have told me that Iitishree is sad as big names were considered, I have got to know of it. Anyway, I can only say that one's loss is another’s gain. Therefore, I am the lucky guy out here.”

Well, now we know what they mean when they say, “live in high hopes and die in despair” right?
