"It is challenging but not a burden" - Bhavika Sharma on taking over and entering 'GHKKPM'

Star Plus’ Ghum Hai Kisi Ke Pyar Meiin, one of the most popular shows recently took a generational leap with the end of Sai and Virat’s love story and the original leads Ayesha Singh, Neil Bhatt and Aishwarya Sharma. The makers have introduced Virat’s daughter Saavi played by Bhavika Sharma. Talking about the show and her character, Bhavika shared her thoughts with India Forums. 

1. Entering a show which has done so well does that make it immensely challenging for you is it a little bit of burden?

It is challenging but not a burden. As an actor, one is always looking to challenge oneself and when this show was offered to me I was aware of the baggage it came with for the simple reason that it has done so well and had a loyal fan base of its own. However, I do hope we as actors can create our fan base and manage to retain the love of the earlier fans and the audiences it gets daunting at times which was the initial stage but now we are getting a little more comfortable. I hope and pray the show touches the skies..even higher.

2. How have the audiences taken to you?

They have been very generous with their love and I am ever thankful. It's very heartening to know that you have fans who stand by you through it all and are always encouraging you to do your best even on days you are not feeling your best. I am ever grateful.

3. What is your rapport with Shakti?

He is an amazing co-star, very supportive and very helpful. He is always pushing you to give your best and is someone you can be yourself with. An amazing actor on his own so the give and take in scenes become that much easier.

4. Bhavika as Savi how did you mould her?

Well, I just slipped into her character effortlessly. I heard the narration and I think as an actor the versatility in you takes over. I live Savi more than I live Bhavika these days given the number of hours I shoot. hehe.

5. With such hectic schedules do you manage time for yourself and your family?

It has been difficult. The past month has been hectic, to say the least, and time with family and friends or even for yourself has been zilch but again doing a show demands this and am glad I have my people who understand...whatever little time I manage I make sure it's spent well.

6. On a day off when you manage it what do you do?

It's my time and my friends and family. I may do nothing but stay home but it's time that I spend with them or running my personal errands.

7. How have your fans been ever since Savi entered their lives?

Very welcoming. I am touched by their love and gesture and it's for them I wanna do better.
