Are you happy with the way your role is shaping up in Uttaran?

Yes, definitely. Raghuvendar Rathore is one such person who is quite level headed, is an action packed hero and also knows what he is doing. Every action and reaction of Rathore is justified. He is not purely grey, he is black or white depending on the situation and is a completely justified character. I am very content with my role as this character is quite similar to me, and at times I speak dialogues which I speak in my day to-day life as well. The secret is, I was brought in this show for a cameo role for merely 10 episodes, but then things started going so well that now I am here to stay.

How similar or different is Raghuvendar Rathore and Gaurav Chopra in real life?

To be honest, we are almost the same, but somewhere the real me is a mystery that only my closest ones know. I don't want to reveal many things as I am a different person to different people.

Will you not get typecast playing an action packed hero?

No, I don't think so. My journey started with a comedy show and in between I have done a number of shows. There were times, when people would tell me to join popular series like Kasauti Zindagi Kii or Kyunki Saas Bhi Bahu Thi and many more, but things changed and thankfully I started getting more and more roles, one after the other. I know that I should never get typecast by any means, but yes, I would love to get into the comedy genre now. Enough of dhishoom dhishoom, action is done, romance is done and now its time to tickle the bones of the audience.

You have been in and out of relationships. Do you still believe in love?

Yes of course! We live in a world wherein we have grown up to various changes. Things have changed drastically and what we were 10 years back is not the same way we are today. Things will keep on changing. I still believe in love, and I feel it's a beautiful feeling altogether. For me, a relationship is all about passionately loving your partner and not being demanding. You deserve what you are worthy of. One shouldn't demand time in the relationship, neither should one be nagging.  Honesty is very important. Well, of course love makes you feel special and you still feel for the person. Touch wood, I have many fans but when someone who loves you compliments you, you automatically smile and that's what love does to you.

If you ask me about my take on relationships, I would say that for me a relationship is very pure and sacred. Its not to be publicized at all. I agree my relationships didn't work, but its not always due to someone's fault. People in a relationship do try to sort out differences with each other but circumstances happen such that people don't get along in the long run and that's exactly what happened with me. My relationship lasted for years because we used to have chats, even discussions at times. However, things didn't work out and I am not the kind of  person who will force someone to be in a relationship just for the sake of it. For me, it's not like it's a break up, I am still very much in a healthy relationship with them, but yes I will not deny that it actually breaks your heart when a relationship breaks.

Why didn't any of your relationship turn into marriage with any of your girlfriends?

Honestly there was a reason why my relationship got intimate for years, but then at times it happens that two people cant make it through! I could have married but still marriage is something very different and both the partners should be willing towards it. For me, marriage is eternal bliss, and had I been married I would have never broken the relationship. When a person marries someone,  its selfless love and the belonging is much greater than one can understand and this understanding needs to be their in both the partners.

So at the moment are you missing someone in your life?

I can't answer this because I am scared to get into any relationship as of now. I may appear to be a hunk, but it does hurt and that's the truth. You understand it only when you go through it.
