Is 'PK 2' happening? Aamir Khan gives a FINAL answer

As Aamir Khan continues promoting his upcoming release Sitare Zameen Par, several rumours about his future projects have been making rounds. One of the most consistent among them has been the speculation around PK 2, a possible sequel to the 2014 hit PK, directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

The original film marked the second successful collaboration between Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani after 3 Idiots. Given its box office performance and cultural impact, talks of a sequel have surfaced repeatedly over the years. Recently, reports claimed that Aamir and Hirani were in discussions over multiple scripts, and that one of them was indeed PK 2. Some reports even stated that the script was being locked and that Aamir had liked the idea enough to move ahead with it soon.

However, in an exclusive interaction, Aamir Khan has now put these rumours to rest. Speaking about his current engagements with Rajkumar Hirani, the actor clarified that while they are collaborating on a different project, PK 2 is not on the cards.

He said, “I have obviously been talking a lot with Director Rajkumar Hirani lately, and as everyone knows, we are working on the Dada Saheb Phalke biopic. However, amidst all this, there is definitely no conversation surrounding PK 2. There is no idea surrounding this film and Rajkumar Hirani and I have not even talked about it. In fact, since PK released, we have not talked about this film at all. So I want to clarify that PK 2 is not happening.”

With this statement, Aamir Khan has clearly denied any development related to a sequel. His current collaboration with Hirani is focused on the Dadasaheb Phalke biopic, which has already generated interest.

While fans may be disappointed about the lack of a sequel to PK, the clarification comes as an important update amidst growing speculation. For now, all eyes remain on Sitare Zameen Par, which is set for a theatrical-only release, and the upcoming biopic project with Rajkumar Hirani.
