Shefali Sharma has been roped in to play the lead in &TV's newly launched show Tere Bin. The actress says that she is glad to be a part of a mature love story. Shefali, who was also seen in Bani - Ishq Da Kalma, is essaying the character of Vijaya in this show.
We had a quick chat with her on what preparations did she undergo for this out of the box role. Here are a few excerpts from the interview.
Don't you feel love stories are becoming mundane on television?
The love story genre can never get saturated. Moreover, Tere Bin is a slice of life story, with relatable characters and situations. Moreover, I always wanted to be a part of a different love story, so I grabbed the opportunity when Tere Bin was offered to me.
What is so unique about this love story?
The show is a matured love story with 3 characters whose lives are intertwined. Each character stands out and has characteristics that are very relatable to the audience. How their lives change with the arrival of someone from the past, will add to the real emotional moments and intriguing plot.
The story line sounds like the movie Silsila. Is it inspired by that Movie?
No, it isn't. But it's a huge compliment! If you have liked movies like Silsila, then you will certainly appreciate Tere Bin. While you may find certain similarities with the movie, in terms of characterization, it is definitely not inspired.
Tell us a little about your character.
I play the character of Vijaya, a loving mother, a supportive wife and a very optimistic person. She is warm and loving but yearns for love from her husband. She believes that she will gain a place in her husband's heart too very soon.
How similar or different is your character to yourself in real life?
I am very similar to Vijaya in terms of our personalities. I am extremely optimistic in real life as well. The only difference is that I am just married and Vijaya is a mother of an 8-year-old (laughs).
You're only 24 and you're playing the character of a mother of an 8-year-old child on the show. So, is it difficult to play a mother?
No. As an actor, we have to play different roles and that's the best part. I get along very well with Mahi, who plays my daughter on the show. Because I am fond of Mahi, I feel the chemistry comes naturally on screen.
Cheers' Shefali!
