What was the main reason for you to take up Sadda Haq?
Not many know that I was almost selected for D4 also. I was going to do the character of Mikhail. But then Sadda Haq came up and I wanted to break the one lead stereotype. It is a very strong show which is making an impact. And after 250 episodes, coming in 3 years. So I purposely chose it and it happened.
D4 is a dance based show, so are you a dancer in real?
I choose Sadda Haq over D4, not because I do not like dancing. It is because I am more of an actor than a dancer.
Sanyukta and Randhir are already paired together and are very popular. How did you deal with the fan bashing?
Nothing. I don't really take interest in things like that. After all we work for people. I am an actor and you give me anything I'll kill it.
How is your reaction now that fans seem to have accepted you?
Yes. They have accepted me and everything has been sorted out. People are loving the show and I was looking forward to this only. That people see and then react. And the reactions have been really good.
Was there any initial hesitation while taking up the show?
No. I had done a rival show before. I was a part of warrior high which was the no.1 youth show till the time it was on air. Now I am doing a show which was competition to my previous show. It is a big thing for me to get Sadda Haq. The producers of Sadda Haq, Yash Sir and Mamta Mam asked me to be a part of Sadda Haq, which was a very sweet gesture. I thought over it and the character was really nice. That's how it is.
Ashwini, why a youth centric show? You have always been seen on youth channels like MTV and Channel V.
I am looking forward to make a career wherein I am not taken for granted for doing a few shows only. But I think I am more interested in the youth genre and I feel I will be completely comfortable in this only. After this I am planning to do films too and side by side I will do web series as well.
Will you do daily soaps?
I do not know. Right now there is nothing in mind and no such thing in the pipeline as well. If it happens in the future then it is good. If it does not then no.
Do you have any message for your fans?
Keep watching Sadda Haq. I have just joined the show. It's been some 35-36 episodes. I hope they keep watching and keep loving the show.

OMG...look at his overconfidence...movies...i think he should first learn acting...many will agree to the fact that he is acting very bad in Sadda haq...his expressions and dialogue delivery are really weird.

I love Ashwini Koul, he is my favourite actor and he can portray any role naturally and he is rocking in Sadda Haq. I'm only watching Sadda Haq for you Ashwini and also for your top notch performance
