Mohit Malik, who is making his comeback on mainstream television after a while with Rajan Shahi's show' Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si' on Star Plus got in an exclusive chat with India Forums on the primere night of the show and spilled some beans on his return. He also commented on the show sticking to its story line in the future and his connection with the 'musical' genre too.
You're returning to mainstream television after a while. How excited are you for this big comeback?
I am very excited about this comeback. First of all, we have Rajan ji. We have Star Plus, too and honestly, working for Star Plus feels like homecoming to me Rajan ji is like family; he is like a mentor to me. We had been trying to work together, but for some or the other reason, it was not happening. Well, we are finally working together now, and I am really very happy to be back. I have never said this, nor do I believe in taking a break from television. I think TV is a great medium, and wherever I am today, I owe it to television. To be honest, the platform has never mattered to me. What matters to me is my work. I have worked equally hard in my OTT projects and my film too. I want to be that actor who works in all three mediums. Look at Marathi actors; you will see them on television, in films and in theatre too. So why is a Hindi actor expected to be confined to a single medium? I had time this time around, and my dates were managed, too, so I agreed to take up the show.

The show talks about a mature love story; however, a lot of times, TV shows tend to deviate from the topic they usually begin the show with. Do you think your show will stick to the original track?
Aur kuch ho hi nahi sakta, our show is about these two characters and these two families. I do not think there is a chance of shifting from the topic. There will be no need to deviate, too; as I said, I am very confident about the show and the story. And honestly, I do not have a problem with the story changing too. At the end of the day, it is business, too, right? You have to run a show, so if a track is not working, you will have to change it. If I ever get the chance to be a producer in the future, I will do the same thing; it will be business for me. Think from a producer's perspective. I do not doubt why it happened; I am very okay with it. Suppose something is working, great. If it is not working, change it. However, in our show, I do not think there is a scope for changing the story. I am dead sure people will love the show.

I think music follows me wherever I go. (Giggles) Yes, I am happy to be a part of this again. This show is an even bigger musical, I would say. We have amazing songs too. All the songs are original compositions, and they are really very beautiful songs. My voice in the show is the same as my voice in Kulfi Kumar Bajewala, because, Nakash is giving me my voice. He gave me the voice in Kulfi too, and again, in this show, he will be my voice. I signed a contract with the channel that my voice has to remain the same. (Giggles)
