I never sing to please anyone nor do I sing for money purposes: Daler Mehndi

Daler Mehndi has always surprised the audience with his blockbuster songs and this time again he made sure to win the hearts of his fans with the remake of Aila Re Aila from Sooryavanshi.

In a candid chat with India Forums, Daler shares what went behind the re-making of the hit song Aila Re Aila, his feelings upon the remake too becoming a charbuster song and the secret of his consistency for so many years.

The legendary singer also gave insights about seeing Ranveer Singh, Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar perform for the song.

Excerpts from Interview with Daler Mehndi,

Firstly, heartiest congratulations Daler Sir, your song Alia Re Aila has become a blockbuster again and is killing the chartbusters already. How do you feel about it.

I am very happy as my song is released. We know the whole world has gone through the phase of pandemic. People were so depressed throughout and I always used to say positive things like everything will be fine , everything will be okay soon and now right before Diwali my song Aila re Aila was released and has become a blockbuster. I am very delighted as people are also making reels on my song. I am very happy that so soon my song has become a hit.

Any anecdotes you want to share from the making of the song?

As Dharma production wanted to make a remake of the song and the interesting fact is this is the first remake song in which the voice used is of the original singer of the old song like the previous one was sung by me and I only have done the remake as well changing the antra a little bit. Also when I saw Akshay Kumar, Ranveer and Ajay during the song what a marvellous energy they have put into it. I was desperately waiting for the release of the song and the film. So was Rohit Shetty and as soon as the song came it was a superhit.

You have always surprised the audience and fans and have set continuous records from a decade, what do you think is the reason of your consistency.

I always sing from the bottom of my heart. I never sing to please anyone nor do I sing for money purposes, just because you are getting enough money so just sing something no I don't do that . I sing a song only if I really like it .
