Versatile actor Manoj Joshi is all set to create khalbali amongst the viewers with his upcoming comedy flick Khalbali. The actor shares with us some of his experiences while shooting for the same film in Bangkok…

Q. What is going to make khalbali in this film?
A. Khalbali, as the name suggests is full of khalbali all over. All the good actors of this industry are working here and it's an out and out funny bone tickler or rather to say a crazy humour. Nearly about 28 to 30 actors viz. Nikhil Dwivedi, Pratimaji, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, Asraniji, Suresh Menon, Shakti Kapoorji and many others are in this film, each of whom are best in their own place and the whole film is being shot in Bangkok. So it is a completely mad comedy.

Q. What about your character?
A. I am playing Pratimaji’s secretary. It's very situational comedy. I know all the secrets of every situation in the film and Johnny Lever hits me and makes me faint every time. So how everything gets revealed in the last is interesting to see (laughs).

Q. What’s the reason behind accepting Khalbali?
A. Firstly, I liked our director Ajay Chandok who has been working with David Dhawan for a long time. As a human being he is very polite and the best part is that the new company called Entertainment which is coming up with a lot of good subjects, so I thought that it will be good to work with them.

Q. Are you excited about the film?
A. Definitely, I am very excited with this film.

Q. Any interesting incident you can recall that happened on the sets?
A. There’s nothing like that. It was very around in Bangkok, around 42 degrees that we had to endure, but the environment on the set was so cool that we did not felt the heat.

Q. What kind of roles do you like to play?
A. Being an actor, I don't have any specification. I have performed as a villain in few of the films like Aan, Shikhar etc. and also played cameo in Page 3, performed as character artist in Bhool Bhulaiyaa, so I can take any bearing. I want to take different kinds of challenges doing different roles and I think I can carry a film's burden on my shoulders. That confidence has grown inside me now and I keep learning from every bit of moments. I love to take challenges.

Q. Who do you think is the best comedy film maker at present?
A. You can’t name one person as there are many good directors who make good comedies. There are Priyadarshan, David Dhawan and among new ones can say it's Ajay Chandok. I have worked with Priyanji in most of his films which numbers around 10 films and will be working with Davidji also. It’s quite difficult to say who is better because everyone has his own qualities.

Q. What is your film Mere Baap Pehle Aap all about?
A. It is not a typical mad comedy but better to call it a family entertainment. Here a boy (Akshaye Khanna) tries to make his father get married, so the concept is very interesting.

Q. Your other projects…
A. I am doing film named SRK for Warner Bros. where I play Vinay Pathak's father. I am also appearing in Gopi Mallya’s Don’t Worry Be Happy which is directed by Raj Bharat. Then there is Kushti where I am working with wrestler Khali and Rajpal Yadav. Last would be Chal Chala Chal and by the next month I may be doing a David Dhawan film.
