How did you start your journey in the Television industry?
I am born and raised in Varanasi and later came to Mumbai. I completed my course in direction and by God 's grace I got my first television show as a director which was Prithviraj Chauhan. This show was followed by Dharam Veer, Jai Shri Krishna on Colors after which I got acquainted with the Balaji camp and did shows like Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil, Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zaroorat Hai, Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahani. Currently, I am directing Haunted Nights on Sahara One and Saraswatichandra on Star Plus.
How do you tackle two different genres of shows?
For me my passion lies in direction so its different yet very encouraging. Both the genres are different and very challenging for me to direct. I have recently joined Sarasawatichandra and I am privileged to direct the show. Everything is very particular and apt in the show. As for Haunted Nights its very exciting as I love horror shows personally.
What is your role as a director?
Basically the entire process from the script reaching the sets to it's proper execution to the final edit, and then the show going on-air, everything is handled by the director.
Have you faced tantrums from Jennifer Singh Grover and Gautam Rode or any other actor?
No,never. Jennifer Singh Grover, Monica Bedi and Gautam Rode... I mean the entire cast of Saraswatichandra is amazingly professional and very very humble to work with. As for Haunted Nights I feel every episode has a new comer who they shoot and they go. So, I haven't faced any starry tantrums from anyone so far.
Did you struggle in the industry?
Yes, I did have my share of struggle but then things started settling gradually.
Do you watch television?
Whenever I get time I do watch television, but it is mostly movies. Whenever I get time I do watch my own shows on TV too.
How many hours do you put in everyday?
Its mostly eight to nine hours in a day..
Are you happy with the way your career is shaping up?
Yes I am very happy with the way my career has shaped up. So far so good and I have directed almost all the genres and wish to continue doing good work.
What are your future plans?
I would now like to direct movies.
