Telly Buzz had exclusively reported earlier that Hats Off Productions is coming up with a comedy show on Sony Entertainment Television, tentatively titled 'Sukh by Chance'.
We had written that the story will revolve around a small lower middle class Gujju family, who literally scan thro' their pockets at the end of every month to get even a penny. All of a sudden, lady luck smiles on them, and they become rich. All the scarcities in their lives are now taken over by big bank balances, and all kinds of luxuries. With money coming in, their lifestyle changes, and their mentalities too change.
Adding more to the info, our source tells us, "The story will focus on three brothers and their families who take the plunge from leading a hand-to-mouth existence to becoming rich. The cast for the show is almost finalized, and the show is expected to go on floor in a day or two".
Ardent fans of Hats Off's Jassuben Jayantilal Joshi Ki Joint Family which used to air on NDTV Imagine have a reason to smile as 'Sukh by Chance' will bring together majority of the cast of the Imagine show.
According to our source, "Sony wanted J.D Majethia himself to play the elder brother, Mohanlal in the show. However, the Producer's prior commitment to his debut film Khichdi has kept him out of the show. Sanjeev Jogtiyani who essayed the character of Shailesh Joshi in Jassuben will be seen as the eldest brother, while Shyam Pathak who was also part of the Imagine show will play the middle brother. Ujwal Chopra who was earlier seen in Jassuben and is now playing the role of Danny in Hats Off's Shree will play the youngest brother".
"Ketkie.J and Krishna Bharadwaj who essayed the roles of Nandini and Pinakin in Jassuben will play the leads in the show. Other cast includes Upasna Shukla, Anuj Thakur of COLORS' Bandhan fame, Bharti Patil", further informs our source.
The shoot for the show was expected to start from September 15th, but there was a delay as the production house and channel had not zeroed in on the actor to play the main character of Mohanlal, the eldest brother.
The show is expected to launch in the last week of October.
We tried calling Danish Khan of Sony Entertainment Television, but he remained unavailable..
When contacted, Producer J.D. Majethia told us that he cannot talk about the show now...
