Actor Harsh Rajput has now been on the screen for the longest time and he agrees that the small screen is indeed women-centric but men have meaty roles to play.
Rajput, while attained fame as a teenager with Prithviraj Chauhan went on to achieve immense fame recently in the show, Nazar co-starring Niyati Fatnani went on to talk about it with ETimes TV as he said, "TV shows revolve around women and very often they get to play the protagonists, but that does not mean male actors don't get good roles. In my career, I have been part of shows like Janbaaz Sindbad and Prithviraj Chauhan where I have got got to do interesting stuff. If a show centres around a woman, it also needs a male actor to balance things."
Talking more about the content on TV, Rajput said, "The content on television is getting progressive everyday I feel. The notion that we are only churning out regressive content is not true. Many makers have taken the lead in showing some entertaining and meaningful stories on the small screen."
Ask him if he too wants to try his luck on OTT and he says, "Due to the pandemic, web shows have seen a great boom. It is an alternative medium, which is giving makers an opportunity to experiment with newer concepts. I haven't done any web show but if there is something challenging, why not? I have never restricted myself to just one medium; it is always about a good role, and not the medium."
Rajput was last seen in the short-lived show, Kuch Toh Hai.
