Happy
Birthday Prabhu Deva and Hariharan! And marking this special occasion,
we bring to you a small bio and a playlist of their greatest hits as
well.
Prabhu Deva's first venture as a choreographer was Vetri Vizha (1989).
He has since then, choreographed in over 100 movies. He pursued his
career in acting and later on in direction too. Thus far, he has never
failed to succeed and his hard work has been paying off fairly well
lately. His debut as a director in Hindi cinema was with the the Salman
Khan starer and blockbuster hit flick, Wanted (2009).
Along
with Prabhu Deva, popular singer Hariharan also celebrates his 57th
birthday today! Hariharan was born in 1955 in Kerala. Commendably, he graduated with a degree in Science and Law and learnt Carnatic music from his mother. Later on, he continued to learn Hindustani music, which soon became his passion. He loved listening to ghazals and was highly inspired by late Jagjit Singh.
Hariharan started his career in Tamil cinema with the movie Roja (1992), directed
by Mani Rathnam and composed by A.R. Rahman. He has since lent his voice
to various songs in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Bhojpuri, Telugu, Kannada,
Marathi and the Bengali languages. Further ahead in
1996, Hariharan formed the band 'Colonial Cousins' with Mumbai-based
composer, Leslie Lewis and in 2004, he was awarded the prestigious Padma
Shri, Yesudas and the National Award for his outstanding performance in
music. He is currently appearing in a music show on Jaya TV.
Hariharan's playlist:
2) Hai Rama - Rangeela (1995)
3) Tu Hi Re - Bombay (1995)
4) Bahon Ke Darmiyan - Khamoshi: The Musical (1996)
