Happy Birthday Prabhu Deva and Hariharan! And marking this special occasion, we bring to you a small bio and a playlist of their greatest hits as well.

Multi-faceted film personality, Prabhu Deva, blows another candle, turning 40 today. Born in Mysore, Bangalore, his real name is Shankupani. His father, Mugur Sundar, a choreographer for South Indian movies, was his source of inspiration, leading him to  perform and excel in a wide range of dancing styles. Prabhu Deva is a two time National Best Choreographer Award winner and has also been hugely appreciated among his contemporaries. Along with all that, dancing even got him the title of "India's Michael Jackson" after his unmatched skills in the field of dance.

Prabhu Deva's first venture as a choreographer was Vetri Vizha (1989). He has since then, choreographed in over 100 movies. He pursued his career in acting and later on in direction too. Thus far, he has never failed to succeed and his hard work has been paying off fairly well lately. His debut as a director in Hindi cinema was with the the Salman Khan starer and blockbuster hit flick, Wanted (2009).

Prabhu Deva is currently busy directing Rambo Rajkumar, starring Shahid Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha.

Along with Prabhu Deva, popular singer Hariharan also celebrates his 57th birthday today! Hariharan was born in 1955 in Kerala.

Commendably, he graduated with a degree in Science and Law and learnt Carnatic music from his mother. Later on, he continued to learn Hindustani music, which soon became his passion. He loved listening to ghazals and was highly inspired by  late Jagjit Singh. 

Hariharan started his career in Tamil cinema with the movie Roja (1992), directed by Mani Rathnam and composed by A.R. Rahman. He has since lent his voice to various songs in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, Bhojpuri, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi and the Bengali languages. Further ahead in 1996, Hariharan formed the band 'Colonial Cousins' with Mumbai-based composer, Leslie Lewis and in 2004, he was awarded the prestigious Padma Shri, Yesudas and the National Award for his outstanding performance in music. He is currently appearing in a music show on Jaya TV.
