Welcome to the birthday celebrations of the sizzling Huma Qureshi who won our hearts by her simple looks and powerful acting.
Qureshi
was born on 28th
July, 1986 in Delhi into a Muslim family consisting of Saleem Qureshi, a
restaurateur, and Ameena Qureshi, a housewife. She has three
brothers: Naeem Qureshi, Haseen Qureshi and actor Saqib Saleem.
Qureshi graduated from Gargi College (Delhi University) with honours in History.
After
moving
to Mumbai in 2008, the beautiful Qureshi started her career
with television commercials, appearing in ads
alongside big names such as Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. It was during
the Samsung Mobile ad that director Anurag Kashyap spotted the pretty
lady and cast her in his crime drama Gangs
of Wasseypur
(2012) alongside Manoj Bajpayee and opposite Nawazuddin Siddiqui. In
the film she played the role of Mohsina, a girl who believes she
is the prettiest in her village. With her simple, innocent looks
and wonderful performance, Qureshi won the hearts of everyone, be it
audience or critics. The same year, the sequel of the movie,
Gangs
of Wasseypur 2 released
and the pretty lass reprised her role of Mohsina and impressed
everyone again with her super performance.
Qureshi next starred in Luv
Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana opposite Kunal Kapoor as the feisty Punjabi
girl Harman. Although the film and her performance was well received
by the critics, the film failed to impress the audience. In 2013, the
dazzling star appeared in three different kind of movies, earning
critical acclaim with the supernatural thriller Ek
Thi Daayan,
anthology film Shorts
and underworld drama D-Day.
The gorgeous diva was last seen in Dedh
Ishqiya
(2014), sequel of Ishqiya,
opposite Arshad Warsi and alongside Madhuri Dixit Nene and Naseeruddin
Shah. She garnered appreciation for her portrayal of Begum
Para's (Dixit) companion.
Of future projects, the
ravishing Qureshi has Badlapur
in her kitty, which is expected to release some time in 2015 and a Marathi
film titled Highway.
