From Jennifer Winget to Sana Amin Sheikh and Sahil Uppal; actors who aced the roles of psycho-lovers

They say ‘Everything is fair in love and war’; well, a few TV shows took it quite seriously. There have been many Television shows that had characters who are obsessive and psychotic lovers. While a few get hatred for their characters, others get lauded for their performances. But, such tracks often attract viewers and get the appreciation from the audiences.

Here we bring to you a list of actors and characters who aced the obsessive lover part in TV shows:

Jennifer Winget as Maya Mehrotra in ‘Beyhadh’: If you talk about obsessive lovers, Jennifer Winget’s portrayal as Maya Mehrotra in ‘Beyhad’ tops the list. The actress made a smashing comeback on television with Beyhadh. The sass with which Jenny played the role attracted immense love for her and the show. While the idea was to make the character look negative and attract hatred, Maya as well as Jennifer received immense love for the same. So much so that, the show came back with a season 2 on Sony TV.

Sahil Uppal as Omkar in ‘Pinjra Khubsurti Ka’: Sahil played mad-in-love characters both in Shakti: Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki and Pinjra Khubsurti Ka. The actor looked dashing as Sangyamar and Omkar. The look and the background score added more value to the brave character that Sahil pulled off. The actor got accolades for taking the risk of playing a villenero in the show.

Sana Amin Sheikh as Sanjana in ‘Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi 3’: Sana entered Sony TV show ‘Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi 3’ midway. She played the character of Sanjana who falls in love with Dev (Shaheer Shiekh) without knowing about his marital status. However, even after knowing the same, she doesn’t budge and continues to create a rift between Sonakshi and Dev. After the introduction of the track, the show and the makers received a backlash and soon the show got axed. However, Sana did get appreciation for the character.

Pooja Banerjee as Rhea Mehra in ‘Kumkum Bhagya’: Ranbir loved Rhea but she made him fake love to Prachi. While doing so, Ranbir fell in love with Prachi leaving Rhea alone. This didn’t go down well with Rhea and she made sure to snatch Ranbir away from Prachi. Currently, Rhea married Ranbir by making Prachi look characterless in front of Ranbir. Pooja Banerjee is getting the appreciation for playing her part brilliantly.

Karanvir Bohra as Viraj Dobriyal in ‘Saubhagyavati Bhav’: Apparently, the trend of such tracks started off from Like OK’s show ‘Saubhagyavati Bhav’ in which Karanvir Bohra played the character of an obsessive lover named Viraj Dobriyal. His look along with cinematography and the background score added value to the charm of the character. Viraj’s favorite song ‘Hume Tumse Pyaar Kitna’ for his wife still send chills down the spine.

Apart from the above, other characters like Krishna (Arhan Behl from Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya), Nisha Mehra (Ridhi Dogra from Wohh Apna Sa) among others also played the shades of an obsessive lover onscreen.
