Flagship Balika Vadhu Flies High At 500 Episodes!

Balika Vadhu, the flagship show of COLORS produced by Sphere Origin has umpteen reasons to celebrate, and the latest is that the show completed 500 episodes on July 1st.

As we know, Balika Vadhu is slated to take a generation leap of five years in mid-July. And around the same time, the show will complete a successful run of two years too.

For the uninitiated, the channel in a unique initiative has come up with a poll wherein the viewers have been given the liberty of choosing their future Anandi. The three girls short listed for the role include a chirpy small town nineteen year old pretty girl from Jamshedpur Pratyusha Banerjee [A], Lucknow's Nivedita Tiwari[B] a beautiful young girl with a sweet smile and a refreshingly innocent personality and Mumbai's Ketaki Chitale [C] a fresher and an avid Balika Vadhu fan.

We called up Producer Sunjoy Wadhwa to get his reaction on the completion of 500 episodes. "We are getting into a new phase in Balika Vadhu with the leap. And completing 500 episodes around the same time encourages us more".

On the response to the poll to select the new Anandi, Sunjoy states, "As you know, we are on the lookout for the new Anandi for which we are having the poll. The response has been phenomenal, and this is an exciting time for me and my team. Audience has great expectations and we will do our best to please our loyal viewers. The poll is still in its early stages, and the results are very impressive. All the three girls stand an equal chance as of now".

Ask him whether the team has zeroed in on the face to play Jagya's Beendini, and he is quick to say, "Yes, we have a name in mind. But we will now want to see whether our choice matches with the viewers".

Talking about the celebration bash for his team, the Producer quips, "We want to get on board our new Anandi and Jagya and successfully carry out the leap. We also complete 2 years in the third week of July. Once we are done with all this, we will have a party to celebrate the occasion".

The poll which is open to viewers will end on 8th July at 7 PM.

The onus as of now lies on the viewers to select their Anandi and be part of Balika Vadhu team's success…
