Fatima Sana Shaikh wanted to drop acting after performing as a Child Actor

Fatima Sana Shaikh never ceases to amaze the audience with her impeccable acting skills and charming looks. The actress has created a niche for herself in the industry and has been a part of some of the most successful films in Bollywood. 

The 28-year-old actress started out as a child actor in Chahi 420 and One 2 Ka 4. Years later, she played Zoya in the Indian drama film Tahaan which received ‘The German Star of India Award’ at the ‘Bollywood and Beyond’ festival at Stuttgart Germany in 2009.

During a recent exclusive interview, Fatima spoke about her journey so far and how she was about to drop acting as a career after performing as a child actor.

She said, “I was a child actor, I’ve worked as a child and after a certain period of time I thought I don’t want to work, I quit acting later, when I was a teenager, in my late teens, I realized acting is something I really enjoy. so I went back into it, I started auditioning again. I thought being a child actor, it would be slightly easy, and that is not the case. but that is completely fine.”

The Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari actress made her Bollywood debut with Dangal wherein she was seen co-starring Aamir Khan and Sanya Malhotra. The actress also spoke about her debut and experience working with Aamir Khan in Dangal. She said, "It around 3-4years I got Dangal I was so happy that I really don't get opportunities where you get to work with the best production house, with the best actors, and with stars totally on the based on audition.” 

Later, Fatima went on to star in Thugs of Hindostan, which also starred Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, Amitabh Bachchan, in lead roles. However, despite the huge ensemble, the film failed to make a mark on the critics and the audience.

Meanwhile, owing to the current coronavirus situation, Fatima spent her lockdown working on her skills, doing online readings. 

On the work front, Fatima will next be seen in Suraj Pe Mangal Bhati alongside Manoj Bajpayee followed by Ludo.
