Emergency: Shreyas Talpade reveals if Kangana Ranaut is a hard taskmaster as a director; says, 'She is...'

Shreyas Talpade will soon grace the big screens with two films, Emergency and Pushpa 3 where he is the voice of Allu Arjun. In Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency, he is playing the role of Late Indian PM Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee. As we know, he was one politician who was loved and respected across parties for his ideology, conduct and wisdom. Shreyas Talpade has stepped into the shoes of the former PM. “The movie has shaped up brilliantly. It is a fantastic film. It is directed by Kangana Ranaut and she has done a terrific job as an actress. The film should not be missed,” he says. Shreyas Talpade says immense research and homework has gone into the film. The actor said besides a recreation of the times, it is a deep insight into the political milieu of the late 1970s and 80s. 

Talking about stepping into the shoes of late Indian PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, he said, “He is one of the very few leaders who is not only revered all over the globe but also adored by millions. Playing him on screen was a humbling experience and came with a huge responsibility. I know that Kangana Ranaut is happy with my performance. If people like me in the role, it will be all thanks to Kangana. She made my work so much easier. We are glad that CBFC has given a go-ahead to the movie, and are now looking forward to the release of the same.” 

He also gave us an idea of how Kangana Ranaut is a filmmaker. Shreyas Talpade said, “I would say she is very focused. She was extremely well-prepared. It is not an easy film to make, especially when you are acting the titular part, and also taking care of budgets. I would say she is very soft-spoken when she directs a scene or gives instructions to actors. There is a certain level of discipline on her sets. Actors know what they are supposed to do in a day. This is why we would finish work earlier than scheduled. As a filmmaker, Kangana is focused and disciplined.”
