Former Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, remembered as Mrs Roshan Sodhi, has reignited debate around the sitcom with new claims, this time touching on her co-star Disha Vakani aka daya benn of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltha Chashma. on her claims of asit modi and disha vakani's raksha bandhan moment. Recently, Jennifer Mistry also took a jibe at TMKOC producer Asit Modi after he shared Raksha Bandhan celebrations with former cast member Disha Vakani on social media. Speaking on the matter with Filmygyan, Mistry remarked, “Khisyani billi khambha nooche it’s been 17 years and till today not even a single photo of Disha tying rakhi to Asit ji has surfaced. This time, the whole thing was recorded on video. Now how will they clear this image? And they are saying that Disha went to Asit ji’s house but actually Disha didn’t go to Asit ji’s house, Asit ji and Neela ji went to Disha’s house. It was clearly visible that Disha was very uncomfortable and she was not smiling.”
The reunion of Disha Vakani, fondly remembered as Dayaben, with Asit Modi drew considerable attention from fans. Modi shared photos and a video from the occasion, writing, “Some relationships make destiny... Not blood, it is a relation of the heart ??! #dishavakani Not just our ‘Daya Bhabhi’, but my sister. For years, sharing laughter, memories and affinity, this relationship has gone far beyond the screen. On this Rakhi, the same unbreakable trust and the same deep affinity were felt again... May this bond always remain with its sweetness and strength.”
Disha Vakani has not returned to the show since going on maternity leave in September 2017, making this reunion particularly noteworthy for fans.
Jennifer Mistry has previously accused Asit Modi of inappropriate behaviour dating back to 2018. She detailed alleged remarks and unwelcome advances during shoots, including a disturbing proposition in Singapore, which contributed to her decision to leave the show.
