"Thousands of lakhs of rupees are involved in these illegal platforms and it is also leading many families into distress, especially that of middle-class and lower middle-class," a part of the complaint read.

The Enforcement Directorate is investigating 29 individuals, including actors and social media influencers, for allegedly endorsing illegal betting apps. The agency is examining financial transactions and online activities to determine the scope of these endorsements. The probe aims to uncover the extent of the operation and identify those involved.

Prakash Raj acknowledged his involvement in an advertisement for an illegal betting app in 2015, but he had stopped within a year. Meanwhile, Rana Daggubati's team clarified that his endorsement was legally compliant.
